Emetophobia

Fear of being sick or others being sick Emetophobia is a relatively common phobia. It is slightly different from other phobias and can be associated with OCD and or ADHD. Unfortunately, it can lead to school refusal and agoraphobia. This is because the sufferer will avoid situations that may cause them to think about being sick. Examples are science lessons, hospitals and even meeting people, especially if they are ill. It is extremely debilitating and can cause panic attacks.

Effective Treatment for Emetophobia

Hypnotherapy can alter how we feel in certain situations and reduce anxiety. It is possible to teach the subconscious (learning mind) coping strategies when faced with previous triggers. EMDR reduces any PTSD from previous events associated with the phobia. The average amount of sessions is 6 one hour sessions with a gao of between 2 or 3 weeks between sessions. There is hypnotherapy to listen to every day.
